Each participating choir will receive a one hour private clinic session with a nationally-recognized clinician who serves on our guest faculty panel for the National Choral Festival. All clinics will be scheduled between 9:00AM and 3:00PM.
The clinic session will involve 1-2 pieces of the choir’s choosing and the festival chorus pieces
Clinic sessions will be scheduled at professional rehearsal studios or hotel ballrooms in the festival city
Two 40-minute festival chorus rehearsals will be scheduled between 3:00PM and 5:00PM and will cover both the commissioned piece and a concert closer
Private vocal coaching for individual singers between
9:00AM and 3:00PM (limited availability)
Each participating choir will participate in one performance session at the
National Choral Festival venue. Sessions will be either 9:00AM – 12:00 noon
(Session 1) or 1:00PM – 4:00PM (Session 2)
Each participating choir will be assigned 20 minutes of stage time during
Session 1 or Session 2 to present pieces of their choice. An accompanist will
not be provided.
Each participating choir will receive written or taped comments from
nationally-recognized choral conductors.
When not on stage, participating choirs will be assigned hall seats to hear
the performance of other participating choirs and perform the festival
Each participating choir will join the festival chorus comprised of all festival participants.
The festival chorus will perform two pieces. The composer-inresidence will rehearse and conduct his or her new piece written for the event. Another guest conductor will rehearse and perform a preselected concert closer.
Each session will include solo performances from singers selected as
finalists from vocal coachings that occurred on Day One
